Homecoming & Family Weekend 2023

Get ready for Homecoming & Family Weekend from Oct. 12-15, as the extended Wartburg community gathers on campus! Below, you can find all of the events requiring registration and order 2023 Homecoming & Family Weekend shirts.

We are looking forward to celebrating our reunion years, which include the classes of 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, 2008, 2013, and 2018! Golden Knights are folks who graduated 50+ years ago, and we're featuring the Classes of 1958, 1963, 1968, and 1973 at our Golden Knights events this year. If it's your reunion year, be sure to enter your details on the first page of registration and join us at special events to celebrate your class.

The deadline to register online is 11:59 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Don't miss your chance to save on Oktoberfest tickets and to order your shirts before sizes run out! ​Please note that we are not able to provide any refunds after the registration deadline.

Get your Homecoming weekend off to a great start with the Best-Shot Golf Tournament! Join us at Prairie Links Golf Course in Waverly (map). Cost is $75 per golfer.

12:00 PM - 1:00 PM		Bach's Lunch Organ Recital and Lecture
Preconcert lecture in Wartburg Chapel Commons, followed by a recital at 12:30 p.m. in the Wartburg Chapel. Bring your own lunch or preorder a $11 box lunch through the online Homecoming & Family Weekend registration, by calling 319-352-8491, or emailing alumni@wartburg.edu by Friday, Oct. 6.

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM		Ubuntu Center Dedication
Join us for the Ubuntu Center Dedication on Friday, Oct. 13, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the McCoy Courtyard. The Ubuntu Center, formerly known as the Centennial Complex, received major renovations to Vollmer and Slife Halls throughout the 2022-23 academic year. All are welcome to this free dedication ceremony!

Join us for these home volleyball games! The first game will be Wartburg vs. St. Olaf College, and will start at 5 p.m. The second will be against Bethel University, and start at 7 p.m. Both games will be held in Levick Arena.

Kastle Kapers variety show... a campus tradition! Tickets for this Friday show are $5 for adults, $3 for students age 5 through college. Tickets may also be purchased at the door.

8:00 AM - 10:00 AM		Knight Run/Walk
Start your day by walking or running the annual 5K! Register and start on the track at the south end of Walston-Hoover Stadium. Cost: $15 for all ages. Deadline to guarantee a T-shirt is Monday, Sept. 11.

1:30 PM - 4:00 PM		Football Game

Cheer on the Knights as they take on the University of Dubuque! There will also be pre-game recognition of Athletic Hall of Fame recipients (1:10 p.m.).

Ticket prices: Adult game admission is $6, $4 for students, free for ages 5 and under, free for Wartburg students and faculty/staff with ID.

4:00 PM - 6:30 PM		Oktoberfest
Presented by Schumacher Elevator. Join Wartburg alumni, students, and friends after the football game for the annual Oktoberfest on the campus mall! Save by pre-purchasing your tickets for $25; cost will be $30 after Oct. 10 and at the gate. Children's tickets are $12 for ages 5-10, free for children under age 5. (Food-only tickets are $18 and can only be purchased online before the registration deadline, Oct. 10. Drinks-only tickets are only available for Hall of Fame Dinner attendees and are $10.) Please note that after the deadline of Oct. 10, Oktoberfest tickets will be non-refundable.

11:45 AM - 2:00 PM		Sunday Homecoming Luncheon

Recognizes Alumni Citation recipients, members of Heritage Society and Golden Knights, and past Alumni Citation recipients. (Meals are complimentary for members of the Heritage Society.) All alumni are encouraged to attend this luncheon to honor our Alumni Citation recipients.

Meal prices: Adults are $18, children ages 5-10 are $10, free for children under age 5, and free for members of the Heritage Society.

Please note: There is no preregistration for Sunday Brunch in the Mensa. Simply pay at the door if you plan to have brunch in the Mensa following Homecoming Worship on Oct. 15.
