WAVERLY, Iowa – No. 6/7 women's basketball continued its NCAA Tournament run on Saturday, Mar. 2 with a home win over No. 16/20 Illinois Wesleyan 62-59. The Knights will move on to the Sweet 16 next week, with opponent and location still TBD.

- First Quarter
- After an early, basket from Illinois Wesleyan, a Sara Faber three pointer got the Knights on the board
- Points were hard to come by early, as a Lauren Woeste layup made the score 5-2 with 6:28 left in the first
- Britney Young and Taylor Runchey both scored for Wartburg, but IWU scored five straight to take its first lead of the game 9-8
- The Titans led by four with just over a minute left, but a three from Runchey and a three from Faber knotted the score at 14 all after the first
- Second Quarter
- IWU made an early three, but the Knights took the lead minutes later after a Woeste layup and a three ball from Young
- After two Faber free throws put Wartburg up four, the Titans went on a 7-0 run to take a 26-21 lead with 2:42 left in the half
- The lead grew to seven, but another Young three cut the lead to 29-24 at halftime
- Second Half
- Third Quarter
- Wartburg came out of halftime hot, scoring seven straight points after baskets from Jaedon Murphy and Macy Harris as well as Young's third three of the game
- Score was tied at 31 with 7:47 left in the third
- Woeste stopped a three minute scoring drought with a layup and then Young broke the tie with another three pointer to make the score 36-33 with just over three minutes left in the third
- Wartburg closed the quarter with a three ball from Harris and a basket in the paint from Woeste
- Fourth Quarter
- Three pointers from Faber and Young pushed the lead to 11 points with 8:03 remaining
- Young connected on her sixth three of the night with 7:02 remaining to make the score 52-38
- The Titans never stopped fighting and were able to claw back inside double-digits with just over four minutes left
- The Wartburg lead shrunk to as many as just one point, but a free throw from Runchey and a clutch driving basket from Harris kept the Knights in front 60-56 with 16 seconds left
- IWU made a late three, but free throws from Young and Murphy iced the game for the Knights
