After 37 years, more than 1,000 students have taken advantage of Wartburg West, our signature urban studies program in Denver, Colo. Students take classes while completing an internship or student teaching, all while living in a metropolitan setting profoundly different from the Wartburg campus. While there are many benefits of Wartburg West, the cost of living is rapidly rising in booming Denver. It can cost students up to $1,200 more to stay in the apartment-style housing at Lynx Crossing than to live on campus at Wartburg. That cost is a barrier that keeps students from pursuing their interests in Wartburg West.

This newly created fund will support those students who wouldn't normally be able to afford to attend Wartburg West and provide students with additional support to help cover the housing gap and make the cost of attending equitable with living on campus. This will allow more students to experience the many opportunities that Wartburg West offers.
We hope you'll consider making a gift in support of this project. Donations will go toward the Wartburg West Experiential Learning Opportunities Fund and allow more students to experience this unique urban studies program. With a goal of $10,000, this project will close the gap for students seeking to study in Denver in the 2023-24 academic year and beyond.
