Wrestling, basketball, spirit squads claim conference honors

Our student-athletes have been busy this month! The men's wrestling team won its 40th conference championship with a recent victory over Loras at home. That's the highest total for any school in any sport in the league.

The cheerleading and dance squads competed in their conference championship last weekend. Cheerleading took home titles in the 2.5-minute routine and five-person stunt categories, while dance placed sixth overall. Jenna Bachus and Reagan Brooks were named second-team all-Conference.

Women's basketball clinched the regular season A-R-C title last week and will face Loras in the final game of the conference tournament at 4 p.m. tomorrow in Levick Arena. If you're still around Saturday, turn out to support the team! Congrats to all our student-athletes on their successes!

Self-defense course set for March 5
|
Self Defense for Women/Finding the Power Within will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 5, at the Hoover Fieldhouse and Track in The W. Learn how to defend yourself or a loved one while building awareness and de-escalation skills. Wear comfortable clothing; cost is $10 per person.

Learn about Amazon trip at meeting

Thinking about traveling somewhere amazing for May Term 2024? At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in Science Center 128, Dr. Michael Bechtel and previous students that traveled to South America in 2022 will answering questions about the 2024 travel course, BI 214 Ecology and Culture of the Amazon. Presenters will explain costs, expectations, itinerary, citizen science opportunities, and service work. A slideshow and question-and-answer session will be integrated.
